Barbara's Legacy is a non-profit organization committed to fostering a supportive community for individuals seeking sobriety and sustained recovery. We work to develop partnerships with recovery programs, treatment centers, employers, churches, and various community organizations to provide comprehensive support.

Jennifer Morris
Community Outreach Director, True Worship Church
Program Director, Michigan Urban Youth Alliance
Jennifer Morris serves her community through outreach, resource connections, and youth enrichment. As Community Outreach Director for True Worship Church, she connects with local organizations to provide resources and support for the community.
As Program Director for Michigan Urban Youth Alliance, Jennifer helps provide engaging enrichment experiences for students in grades 6–12, focusing on media, podcasting, and sports. The program introduces young people to sports fundamentals, teamwork, discipline, and skill development while exploring photography and podcasting.
Recovery resources
Barbara’s Legacy empowers individuals on their recovery journey through encouragement, community connections, and access to sobriety resources. Through our “Sobriety Saves Lives” initiative, we inspire hope, support second chances, and encourage a healthier future.
Community partnerships
We build strong alliances with local organizations, employers, and churches to create a network of opportunities and support.
Barbara’s Legacy’s 1st Annual Backpack Giveaway brought together 97 attendees and 16 volunteers on August 30, 2026, at Morningside Cafe on Detroit’s Eastside for a day of generosity, connection, and back-to-school support.

A special thank-you to Mr. Jeffery Lewis II, owner of Morningside Cafe, for hosting and providing attendees and volunteers with light bites, expertly brewed coffees, revitalizing and soothing teas, handmade sandwiches, and pastries. His hospitality helped create a welcoming space for our community.
